Brown Cow’s Pre, During and post IPL Treatment Guidelines.
Laser Hair
Removal for Men and Women
Pre Treatment
Requirements
- Do not bleach or use depilatory cream for at
least 2-3 weeks prior to your 1st treatment and stop using for the
duration of the IPL treatments.
- No waxing, plucking, or threading at least 1
month prior to your treatment and stop these methods of hair removal for the
duration of your laser treatments.
- Shaving or cutting the hair is the only method
of hair removal recommended.
- For best results you must shave the area to be
treated at least 24hours before your treatment.
- Body or facial scrubs are recommended 1 week
prior to or after your laser treatment only. Do not have an exfoliation
treatment 2-3 days either side of your laser treatment.
- Laser treatments cannot be done if the client
has false tan or a natural tan on the area on the day of treatment.
- You must use an SPF 25-30 on the area of
treatment during sun exposure and summer months.
During
Treatment
- Please shave 24 hours prior to your treatment.
Shaving the same day as treatment leaves the skin more irritated and prone
to reaction.
- Brown Cow cannot be responsible for shaving;
this is up to the client. We cannot do the treatment on the day if the
area is not prepared.
- Always insure your laser therapist of any
change of medication since your last visit as per your informed
consultation consent form.
- Please make sure fake tan is not present on
day of appointment.
After Treatment
- Once the treatment has been carried out the
area which has been treated may be red and swollen and this can last from
2-3 hours up to 2-3 days.
- Avoid itching or tight fitted clothing on the
area that has been treated to avoid any further irritation.
- To reduce any discomfort Aloe Vera should be
applied to the area that has been treated.
- For the next 24-48 hours after the treatment
the following activities should NOT be done.
- No hot showers or baths – tepid water only.
- No heat treatments such as sauna, Jacuzzi or
steam rooms should be used.
- No excessive sweating or workouts.
- No deodorants, perfumed or scented body
lotions to be applied.
- No swimming in chlorinated water after.
- Nothing that will bring heat to the area.
